The Mt. Pleasant Golf and Country Club, a semi-private club, first opened in 1928.  The original course contained sand greens until 1952 when grass greens were installed.  The 9-hole course features 2,833 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 36.  The course rating is 33.2 with a slope of 105.  In 1963 Eddie Devinger, Jr. set the 9-hole course record for an amateur of 29.

The Club is governed by a five-member board who serve three-year terms.  Currently the Club offers family, single, student golfing memberships as well as a social membership.  Members have access to a year-around bar, Friday night dining, and banquet and meeting facilities.  In addition our membership has a calendar of social activities including golf events, holiday parties, and family events.  The Club offers men's, women's, and couple's leagues, and a junior golf program.
